I have a background as a Labor and Delivery nurse and nurse manager and have a Masters in Nursing Education. I worked as a hospital Perinatal Educator and have taught in a University setting also. I became an IBCLC in 2006, and became certified in Hypnobirthing Childbirth Education in 2008. I work now as a hospital IBCLC seeing mostly inpatients. I also work as a Prenatal Educator in the hospital setting. As Director of External Affairs, I will be coordinating the efforts of our liaisons as they represent the membership of USLCA to other organizations and be our advocates as IBCLC's as decisions are made that affect us in the healthcare setting. I will also be involved in the efforts of the board to work on setting standard staffing recommendations for hospital IBCLC's.
